Dear Rock Tribe & Friends,

You are invited to join us for this year’s “Jesus Tribal Gathering.” It starts with a BBQ at 5:00 pm Sunday, June 25th, and ends Friday evening, June 29th. The main gatherings will be held at the Rock Laramie “Big House” located at 402 Corthell Road in the beautiful town of Laramie, Wyoming. The Sunday afternoon BBQ party sets the stage for joy-fueled connections with new and old friends and powerful encounters with the Spirit of Jesus.

The Jesus Tribal Gathering is a week-long celebration that combines the heart of a family camp, family reunion, friendship building, powerful worship, training for life in God’s kingdom, outdoor wilderness adventures, creative children’s ministry, personal & prophetic ministry, God encounters, fun recreation, picnics, great food and more. This gathering is not just for the Rock Tribe but for the Body of Christ who wants to experience revival, the restoration of the Church as Family, and the transforming influence of Christ’s kingdom in cities, regions, and nations.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we will gather in the mornings and evenings to worship and grow into Christ’s likeness. Lunches on these days will be provided and are part of the registration fee. Friday, around noon, we will have a special picnic with games in the local park.

Tuesday and Thursday, we will be guiding outdoor wilderness adventures like rock climbing, canoeing, day hiking, a more rigorous peak ascent up Medicine Bow mountain, fishing, outdoor art classes, or just relaxing by a mountain lake in the Snowy Range – a part of the larger Rocky Mountain Range. You will provide your own lunch and hydration for these two days of outdoor recreation.

How about canoeing at the base of a snow-capped mountain with breathtaking beauty? Enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and the fun of paddling with family or friends in a high alpine mountain lake. Make sure you bring some lawn chairs or picnic blankets with you so you can lounge and enjoy the mountain views between canoe trips.
Depending on the weather, we will be canoeing in the high alpine lakes of the Snowy Range Mountains or the Pines of North Crow Reservoir. There is great fishing in both areas. Bring a fishing pole if you want to fish and a fishing license. Also, there is a small parking fee for each vehicle in the canoeing area ($5). Canoes, paddles, and life jackets will be provided. If you have your own paddleboard, please feel free to bring it.

Day Hikes

Day hiking in the high alpine of the Snow Range Mountains is an extraordinary experience. The views, snowcapped peaks, high alpine lakes, wildflowers, and freshwater mountain streams create a world-class hiking environment. Participants on hikes can expect to have a great time of fellowship, enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, and also have some time to connect with Jesus in the wilderness. Hikes will range from beginner to intermediate. All ages are welcome. We encourage trekking poles if you have them.

Rock Climbing

Never rock climbed before? No problem! We will provide all the equipment and skilled rock climbers to make sure it is safe and rewarding. The rock climbing is located in a shaded aspen grove with a lot of space for fellowship, play for kids and mountain beauty. We will have beginner to intermediate routes set for everyone to try. Routes are 70 to 100 feet in length. You can climb all the way to the top or as far as you feel comfortable. All ages are welcome. Children 4 and up can climb. We will carpool to the climbing area and then hike a ½ mile to the rock wall. Space is limited to 20 participants each day.

Peak Attempt of Medicine Bow Peak – 12,013 feet

This is the most challenging and rewarding activity we offer at tribal: hiking to the top of Medicine Bow Peak, 12,012 feet. The breathtaking view at the top is world-class and a true alpine experience. The hike is approximately 5 miles with 2000 feet of elevation gain and loss and will take approximately 6 hours.
